### Two-Dimensional Geometric Transformations| Point Clipping

In this two dimensional geometric transformations , we will be learning some of the topics:-

- Point clipping
- Line clipping
- Line Clipping Algorithms
- Polygon Clipping

### Some Important terminologies :-

1:- **Window** :- It is the place which is used for display. A display consists of a viewport. A window can be of any shape. It can be rectangular , circle , ellipse.

Generally , it defines what to be viewed on a particular screen.

2:-** Viewport:**– It is an area on display to which a window is mapped. Is basically defines where the image on the window is to be displayed.

## Point Clipping :-

A point P(X,Y) is displayed if it satifies the following condition.

wx_{min} ≤ X ≤ wx_{max}

wy_{min} ≤ Y ≤ wy_{max}

where the ( wx_{min} wx_{max }wy_{min} wy_{max }) are the edges of the window.

If any of the four inequalities is not satisfied , the point are not displayed.

Assume that , we have a window in which we have to clip points.
